The Paris motor show is probably the biggest of this fall and of what’s left of 2016. Yet Aston Martin, Lamborghi, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Ford and Volvo will be skipping this year’s French show. And this isn’t rare either. An increasing number of automakers are making a habit out of skipping various international shows.
I blame the Internet for killing motor shows. Because it will happen . Sooner rather than later.

Could it be due to the strange timing of the show? At this point all the new models are already out and available for purchase.

Except such major absence rarely happens, especially when the markets are not in free fall.

I will be on Oppo-reporting duty at the show at some point, by the way. So if any of you guys want something specific, shoot away!

Well I think Volvo is at a loss considering the new V90 XC just dropped this week...not sure why they didn’t wait for Paris, but perhaps they decided that one of Europe’s densest cities wouldn’t be a very good place to showcase their new off-roading lifestyle wagon.

I’m sure there’s a multitude of reasons.
Probably terrorists.
Or that those brands don’t really have anything to announce that needs to be shown in Paris. But it’s probably terrorists.
